Membership Advisors 101 by: Alicia Dunn

Half-PineappleOn behalf of your 2016-2017 Membership Advisors, welcome back! We are so excited to kick off the new Junior League year, and wanted to use this as an opportunity to (re)introduce you to the Membership Advisors and how we’ll be working with you this year.

Your Membership Advisors this year are: Stacey Mallon, Kim Wells, and Taryn Pike.

The Membership Advisors are part of the Membership Council, and serve as a general resource for all active members. You can reach us with any league related questions, concerns, or thoughts at membershipadvisor@jlboston.org. We want to hear from you!

Beyond being a resource for you, we manage several key aspects of the League.

JLBoston Circles
JL Boston Circles are a perfect forum for members who seek more opportunities to socialize, make connections and build friendships within the League. Circles enable new connections with others in the League with whom you share the same hobbies and interests. The best part is that there are endless possibilities for new Circles! We will be managing all new circle requests, and making sure that all existing circles are maintained and updated.

Have an idea for a new circle? Submit it here : https://members.jlboston.org/?nd=my_chapter&page_id=52

The League Cares (TLC)
“The League Cares” (TLC) is a member appreciation and support initiative designed to give a voice to each member, and to help members feel more deeply connected to one another and to our League as a whole. TLC initiates random acts of kindness projects for our membership and gives recognition to individual members and their accomplishments through a “Member Spotlight” and a “Moments and Milestones” section of the League Link newsletter.

Please send us any big news, updates, or life events that you’d like us to be aware of. This can include updates on behalf of other league members that you know are in need of a little TLC.

Membership Appreciation Events
Last but not least, we will be hosting several member appreciation events throughout the year. These are designed to be fun (and free!) social events. Our first event will be the Welcome Back Party on Thursday, September 29th at Headquarters. In the spirit of the league, we will be selecting a community partner to support at each event. For the Welcome Back Party, we will be running a donation drive for toiletries to benefit Rosie’s Place.

Other events this year will include the Kate Spade Event in November, Holidays at Our House in December, and the Closet Clean-out at the end of the year. Keep an eye out for future announcements on events!

We can’t wait to see you on September 29th, and looking forward to a great year ahead!

Your Membership Advisors,
Stacey, Kim, & Taryn
