JLB Hosts Premier Ice Ball Event at the Four Seasons

Don’t Get Frozen Out of the JLB’s Biggest Fundraising Gala of the Year

BOSTON (December 12, 2005) – The Junior League of Boston is hosting its annual JLBall black tie fundraiser – this year, the glamorous “Ice Ball” will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.  The event, expected to be the highlight of the winter calendar, is being sponsored in part by Long’s Jewelers and will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Four Seasons Hotel from 7:00 to 12:00 p.m.

Tickets to this year’s event are already selling quickly and proceeds from the event will benefit the mission of the Junior League of Boston, including its 18 community projects and training for the JLB’s more than 1,200 volunteers.

“In the midst of the winter, the Junior League of Boston wanted to create an evening of cool sophistication and warm company for a great cause,” said Susan Ogrodnik-Smith, Ice Ball Co-Chair.  “This year’s event includes some wonderful sponsors and a fabulous new venue that should bring a sparkle to the night, while raising money for, and awareness of, the Junior League of Boston’s ongoing work to promote the health and education of women and children in the greater Boston area.”

The Ice Ball features two levels of tickets.  The $200 “Snowflake Dinner” tickets include a complimentary wine reception, followed by a three-course plated dinner with hand-selected wine pairings and topped off by dancing to the Sultans of Swing.  The $90 “Icicle Dessert” tickets include dessert and dancing.

As at previous JLBall events, the highlight of the evening will be the incredible silent auction, filled with one of a kind packages created solely for the Ice Ball.  This year’s auction items include a $5,000 necklace from Long’s Jewelers, a weekend stay from PGA National, including limo service to and from the airport, and $2,000 worth of spa treatments from Sona Med Spa.  For those purchasing tickets to the Ice Ball, Classic Tuxedo has offered a 50 percent discount on tuxedo rentals for the evening and the Four Seasons Hotel is offering a special rate for hotel rooms.
