Little Black Dress Initiative Kickoff Event Thursday, February 15, 2018

Join us February 15, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Coppersmith Restaurant in South Boston to kick off the Junior League of Boston’s first Little Black Dress Initiative!

This celebration of giving will mark the start of The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) – an advocacy campaign that seeks to raise community awareness on the issue of poverty in Boston. During February 26, 2018 to March 3, 2018, LBDI Advocates will wear the same black dress for five consecutive days to illustrate the effects poverty can have on a woman’s access to resources, her confidence and professional opportunities.

This year, 100% of all funds raised during the LBDI week will go to The Women’s Lunch Place who will create the Junior League of Boston Homelessness Prevention Fund! The Little Black Dress initiative will assure a warm, safe bed for Boston’s most vulnerable women, along with freedom from the anxiety of where they will next lay their head. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $12,500 for this cause, with a reach goal of $25,000.

This event is open to all LBDI Advocates and friends (members and non-members). Come to get pumped for the LBDI week, receive your “Ask Me About My Dress” stickers as well as instructions for creating your LBDI Donor Page with FundRazr. Attendees will also learn helpful fundraising tips! Tickets include light appetizers and one drink ticket per attendee.
